A fair warning: I don’t think I have a good taste in anime - but anyways here are a few I enjoy below.
Why anime? Well, I’m not too sure. My attention span doesn’t match well with most passive media but anime has a different story for me. It’s just what I find myself watching most often. I gravitate towards the ones that remind me of my childhood and all the anxieties I experienced back then.
Probably the worst one you’ll find in this list. I love it. It’s great. My favorite here. Full of coming to age anxieties and the most excruciatingly awkward experiences that I had far too much of when I was little. It’s the story of a young woman’s journey through highschool.
It’s fun. It’s light. It’s a rom com in anime form. An Adult Swim gem. Watch it.
I'm not going to explain this one. If you’ve heard of it and haven’t watched it drop what you’re doing right now and go watch it. If you don’t have the time to watch it I recommend just watching the last two episodes at least.
Darling in the Franxx.
Another Eureka 7 -ish. It’s light. It’s fun. Spaceship 02 is bae.
Mysterious Girlfriend X.
Another one that reminds me of my time as a child. It’s objectively bad. Not as bad as Watamote. God, it’s awkward. I love it.
Serial Experiments Lain.
I'm not going to offer an explanation. You simply need to watch it. Blow off all your plans next weekend and get it done. It dives into our relationship with tech, others, how those two intermingle, and their ramifications.
Adult Swim gem. Great music. Watch it for that alone.
Simply hilarious. Light and funny.
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.
Same boat as Gabriel’s DropOut. Simply hilarious. Only thing that would make it better is if Kobayashi was employed writing Go instead of Python.
Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken.
Meta anime. If you hate/love scrum you’ll enjoy this watch. Can’t wait for the next episode to come out!
That’s all for now. Just off the top of my head. Hope you find one you enjoy here! If so get in contact. It’s always fun to chat anime malarkey with folks.
